[Email Sent to Barbell Brunch Club Pre-Registrations on Friday 30th September]

Hi!

Thanks again for registering your interest in the Barbell Brunch Club! I'm pretty darn excited about it and I've been spending a whole lot of time planning and prepping.

I thought it was about time I reached out to everyone who has shown an interest with some information on what the club will include, some updates on the launch and answer all of the questions some of you have been asking. So, this is going to be a pretty big email... here goes!

The 'Brunch' part 1. The Workout

Sessions will be held every Saturday at 10am - 11am in the Studio at PureGym Nuneaton and we'll begin with a ~45 minute workout. It will be a full body workout using barbells (who would have thought, eh?) and weight plates with a little more emphasis towards the feminine physique - a little more legs, glutes and core - but don't worry, your upper body will get a good working, too. Finishing with a good stretch and cooldown afterwards

I've got the workout about 90% complete at this point. It will be suitable for all levels of fitness and experience, including those who are brand new. We will set everyone up with a light, medium and heavy barbell and will alternate through them as we go through the workout - everyone's weights will be unique to them and their ability.

The workout will be to music, I've spent waaayyyy to long on choosing a variety of music and choreographing the movements to the beats of the songs. While I'll be leading at times so you can follow what I do, I'll also be spending as much time as I can moving around and offering feedback, technique tips and motivation to everyone taking part so you now you're being safe and getting the most out of the workout.

The training aim of the workout is going to be to build strength, help with weight loss/toning up and improve fitness.

The 'Brunch' part 2. The Catch-Up

After the workout there will be ~15 minutes where we can all sit down and have a good chinwag and review the workout and everyone's progress. I can help to make recommendations to the weight you're using (i.e. whether to keep it the same for next week and focus on getting more reps, increase it etc) and you can ask any questions and give feedback to me.

I'm looking to invest in a fancy-pants smart scale, too, so there is the option to weigh yourself if you want to. I can't stress this enough, though, the weighing is totally optional and doesn't need to be shared with the group if you don't feel comfortable with this.

In addition to reviewing the workout, we can also discuss diet/nutrition as well and I'll be happy to help any way I can with tips and recommendations to help support your goals.

The Members Only Group.

Outside of the sessions, there will be a private group for all members of the Barbell Brunch Club. I'm hoping I can get this up and running via my website, so it's an easy central hub for everyone to access however this is tripping me up at the moment (apparently I'm not as tech savvy as I thought 😭) my backup is to create a group on Facebook.

I'll be active in the group to hold 'ask me anything' panels, share information/tips and do my best to keep everyone motivated and on track. It will also be a place to connect with other members of the group, share your progress, ask questions, check-in and use however you see fit.

Much like the weigh-in, this is optional and if you don't feel it is for you that is absolutely fine.

The Future of the Group.

I want to keep evolving the group over time. Currently I have set a limit on the amount of ladies in the group to 10, however I may change this to 15 if I feel I am able to give everyone the attention and support they need. If it becomes super popular (you never know, right?) I might even grow the group and hold two 'Brunch' sessions... but we'll cross that bridge when we get there 😅

The workout will change over time, with a new 'release' every 2 months or so. This will give time to get familiar with the workout and build up strength and confidence in the routine before changing things in order to continue progressing.

This will be a community-led group - I want everyone involved to have a say in what happens: Future workouts, features of the group, ideas for things to be included or removed... even the type of music I use in the workouts! I'll do my best to tailor everything around the members.

Cost & Payment

Membership will be £20 per month. I've tried to keep the price as low as I can to make it accessible to as many as possible... whilst also making sure I can keep the lights on at home 😆

I use a company called GoCardless for payments (it helps me with taxes and all that boring stuff) which sets up a sort of direct debit to take payments. You get a reminder about the payment and a receipt afterwards, too.

There will be no minimum commitments, cancellation fee's or any nonsense like that. This is a join when you want, leave when you're ready type of club. I don't want to make anyone feel uncomfortable about going their own way when they want to or tying people down to something they don't want to be in. I can cancel the direct debits just as easily as I make them and you always have the option to pull the plug on your end with your bank as well.

First payment won't be required until the launch (see details on that below).

The Launch Date

Soooo... I know I have been throwing around 8th October as the initial launch date for the club, however due to personal reasons I have had to delay this by 1 week, meaning;

The Barbell Brunch Club will be launching on Saturday 15th October.

With this being in the middle of the month, the first month's payment will be £10. 🙂 If you do want to join, I'll send you a link to GoCardless to make the £10 payment and set up the £20 per month payment starting from 1st November.

Your Questions (So far! Please feel free to ask more)

Q) What if I can't make a session?

A) If you can't make it to a session, or if a session doesn't go ahead (i.e. if I am away or ill) then you will have that session discounted from your months payment. If you let me know ahead of time, it will be taken off that months payment. If that months payment has already been taken, I'll take it off the following month for you.

_____________________________________
Q) Do I need to be a member of PureGym to attend?

A) Yes, you will need to be a member of PureGym!

_____________________________________
Q) I've never done weight lifting before, will this be suitable for me?

A) Absolutely. For parts of the workout I will likely need to be at the front of the class leading, so everyone can stay in time, however I will be coming over to everyone to check on them - providing technique and form corrections where needed. If you have never done weight lifting before, the first few sessions can be done with light weights just to get a feel for the movements.

_____________________________________
Q) Do I have to commit to a certain number of months?

A) Nope. This is a rolling month-by-month deal. Join when you like, leave when you're ready.

_____________________________________
Q) How difficult are the workouts going to be?

A) In some respects, the workouts can be as hard or as easy as you like since you'll have control over how much weight you use and will be able to take breaks if you need them - although I will be encouraging you to challenge yourself! Since it is weight lifting based, it won't be a high-intensity cardio workout, so don't expect to be fighting for your breath and sweating buckets... but you can certainly expect a good challenge and some sore muscles if you push yourself!

Final Thoughts/What next?

Phew... that was a long email. My wrists hurt a bit, not gonna lie. 😩

Hopefully this email gives you all the information you need about the club and answers any questions you had, however if you have any more - please feel free to get in touch any time.

I'll keep you updated as we get closer to the launch and send through the payment link sometime the week commencing 10th October. You can sign up and pay through that and I'll be waiting at the Studio to welcome everyone to the group on Saturday 15th October.

If you have decided this isn't for you, that's ok! Just let me know and I'll remove you from my list.

Please feel free to share this email and the group with anyone who you feel might benefit from joining.

I hope to see you at the first Brunch!

- Andy, The BFG.
